Multi-platform Church Begins 9:30 am This Sunday!

Okay, first, if you haven’t already, please go read about what you need to do if you’re attending in person on Sunday: READ ME.

We are boldly going where we’ve never gone before as we jump into holding a worship service outdoors that is simultaneously available via livestreaming on our Youtube Channel. LINK TO SERVICE

Here are some details about how this will work:

For those attending in person, please come directly to the “backyard” of Live Oak (e.g. don’t go through the building unless you have mobility issues). Bring your lawnchair, wear your mask. Come early to get situated – the service will begin at 9:30 am.

We will have a table set up where you can put on a nametag and pick up a Joys/Sorrows card. If you have a joy or sorrow you would like to share, fill that out and put it in the basket by our stage area.

Set your chair or blanket at least 6 feet from other families to maintain social distancing.

Your offering to Live Oak, and to the “Share the Plate” recipient is always enthusiastically appreciated. To keep things simple, we ask that you either donate with a check (look for the green box) or via the donate button on our homepage.

Viewing at home? Great! Please model for others what we’ve already been doing in the chat box: typing “The chalice is lit in (your name’s) home” during the chalice lighting, typing your joys/sorrows during that portion of the service, etc.

Q & A

What if it rains?
In cases of inclement weather, everyone will watch from home as the worship leaders and musicians livestream the service from the sanctuary. No one else will be permitted in the sanctuary.

In that situation, a notice will be put on liveoakuu.org.

What about restrooms?
The building will be open for this. Please wear your mask at all times.

Will everyone wear masks?
Everyone is required to wear masks. The speakers and musicians will remove theirs when speaking or singing.

What we expect: frankly, that things will be a little messy! (Always in beta …) We’re setting up for this the best way we know how, with the information available to us. We expect to assess and adjust once we see how this all works. We are not attempting to give everyone the exact same experience; we are attempting to give everyone an opportunity to connect with others in a way that works best for them.

Your kindness and patience are appreciated, as is the work from all the volunteers and staff who are working to make this happen. See you Sunday!
