How does your creativity inform your spirituality, and vice-versa? I spoke with my friend Rev. Sean Dennison this week on The VUU (a weekly UU webcast). He is about to host an event called Cabaret Church at the church he serves in Illinois, a one-day art and religion tent revival, with all kinds of musicians – hip-hop, punk, folk, etc. – visual and performance art, preaching, and more.

Both art and religion are rooted in a commitment to inspiration, says Sean. He points to history, when art was found in churches and say that it is the disconnect between the two now that is recent, and unusual.

What can we do, that will help Live Oak reflect more of a creator culture, than a consumer culture? What is the art that expresses your inspiration?
