Faith Development 1.12.20

Here’s what you need to know!

Thank you for supporting our elementary Homeless Helper project. We sold out of bags on Sunday morning.

This week our elementary ages begin a two-month unit, “Who’s Who in UU?” focusing on black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) Unitarian Universalists. Middle and High School will begin to look at democratic process and right of conscience this month to go with our theme of the fifth UU principle.

Adults continue the five-week series called “The Corruption of Our Democracy.” If you missed session one, but want to join us for session two, I encourage you to watch the video, “Legalize Democracy,” and to read the preparatory handouts found here. Follow this blogpost on the website and in the newsletter for what happened each week so you can stay up to date if you miss out.

A repeat (and update) from last week — OWL for 4th and 5th grades ONLY will be offered on Sunday mornings from 10 – noon. Class size will be limited and open first to Live Oak members. Due to the potential size of this class, we are not opening it up to the community. If you are interested in your child participating, complete the interest form, mark the following class dates on your calendar.

Feb 9 (Parent Meeting), Feb 23, Mar 1, Mar 8, Mar 22, Mar 29, Apr 5, Apr 19, Apr 26, May 3, May 24
