Here’s what you need to know!
Elementary age continue a two-month unit, “Who’s Who in UU?” focusing on the African American inventor, Lewis Latimer. Middle and High School are traveling downtown to participate in the Homeless Giveaway run by Austin Atheists Helping the Homeless. They will leave the Live Oak parking lot at 8:20 AM and return by 10:45 AM. There will not be regular youth groups. All participants need to have notified Carrie by Wednesday of their desire to participate so adequate transportation can be arranged.
Adults continue the five-week series called “The Corruption of Our Democracy.” If you missed previous sessions, but want to join us for session four, you can catch up by watching the video, “Legalize Democracy,” and reading the preparatory handouts for sessions two, three, and four. Follow this blogpost on the website and in the newsletter for what happened each week so you can stay up to date if you miss out.
Our Whole Lives (OWL) for 4th and 5th grades ONLY will be offered on Sunday mornings from 10 – noon. Class size will be limited and open first to Live Oak members. Due to the potential size of this class, we are not opening it up to the community. If you haven’t already indicated your interest, please complete the interest form, and mark the following class dates on your calendar. If you are new to Live Oak and want an introduction to the OWL program for this age group, please join Carrie at noon on February 2 for an overview. Childcare is available. This does not take the place of the mandatory orientation.
