Here’s what you need to know!
This week we return to our regular schedule of classes. Elementary ages will be creating Homeless Helper kits for purchase. These kits are $3.00 for one or two for $5. You can purchase them in the fellowship hall at the end of the RE hour or immediately after second service for the next couple of Sundays.
Middle and High School will have their usual first Sunday hangout with games and fun activities.
Adults are invited to participate in a five-week series called “The Corruption of Our Democracy.” You can read more about the offering on the Adult Learning page. It is not necessary to register for this class, but you are encouraged to attend as many as you can as they build on each other. Watch the blog posts on the website and in the newsletter for what happened each week so you can stay up to date if you miss out. Finally, if you are interested in helping facilitate this class, please sign up here.
As I wrote in a previous article we are shifting Our Whole Lives (OWL) scheduling and will offer the upper elementary class again this year to put us on a coordinated rotation. OWL for 4th and 5th grades ONLY will be offered on Sunday mornings from 10 – noon. Class size will be limited and open first to Live Oak members. Due to the potential size of this class, we are not opening it up to the community. If you are interested in your child participating, complete the interest form, mark the following class dates on your calendar, and stay tuned for updates on the scheduling for the mandatory parent meeting in early February.

We continue to need help in our elementary and preschool/nursery areas. If you are interested in serving in one of these areas, please contact Carrie Krause, dlfd@liveoakuu.org.
