Faith Development 10.20.19

Here’s what you need to know this week!

There is a current need for adults to help with the youth rally. We need overnight rovers, meal prep help, workshop leaders and help with setup and cleanup after the event. Please reach out to me if you can take one of these roles on.

Nursery/PreK can use your help. Are you willing to volunteer once a month for a worship service and RE time? Know someone who would like a paid position in our nursery? Please let Carrie know.

Middle School and High School are off to a great start so far! Middle School is working on creating a UUtopia using our principles as guiding values. Our High School group will consider service projects this Sunday as we talk about a possible service learning trip at the end of the year. Register to be added to the email list for families and the chat group for high school youth!

On Sunday morning, adults continue their discussion of the second principle: justice and compassion in human relations. New chalice circles can form if leaders step forward. Please consider this opportunity to learn together. For more information about chalice circles or other adult learning, please visit the Learning pages of the website.

Are you a new member of Live Oak? Consider joining our newly forming Acorn Chalice Circle. You can read more about it here, including the link to sign up for the groups. The dates and times for the meeting will be determined as the group forms. The goal is to offer these six-session groups three times during the year, so if the first group fills or the timing doesn’t work for you this fall, we will keep your name on the list for the next offering.

Please consider how you can help in faith development across the ages this year by contacting Carrie Krause. Let’s grow our base of adults sharing the journey with our children, youth, and adults. Many hands make light work and allow for a richer experience for all involved.
