Faith Development for Families

This week our elementary ages begin learning about being anti-racist. The curriculum is written for two age groups, K-2 and 3rd-5th, allowing for more age-appropriate conversations. If you have more than one child in this age group and have issues with accessibility, please reach out to me so we can talk. Also, if you are willing to help out in the RE Zoom classes this year, I’d love to hear from you.

New to Live Oak? If you are interested in visiting a class, and are not registered for RE, please send me an email at dlfd@liveoakuu.org.

RE Class Times: (subject to change with advance notice)
PreK – 11:30 – 12:00
K-5th – 11:30 – 12:15
6th-8th – 11:30 – 12:15
9th-12th – 4:00 – 5:00

Can’t make the scheduled RE time? No worries. As we say, families are the primary religious educators. All lesson plans are available to registered families via Live Oak Padlet. (Registration link in sidebar.) If you attended RE, the site includes optional activities for home related to the session. You can post pictures of your family doing the activities directly to the Padlet site, or share in one of our FB groups.

Monday Meditation

If you are looking for a way to start your week with mindfulness, please join Carrie on Monday mornings for a check-in, brief guided meditation and a time to set your intention for the week ahead. We gather for about 30 minutes starting at 7:00 AM. Monday Meditation.

Chalice Circles

Chalice Circles have kicked off, but I am looking for a few more people who are interested in joining some others who are registered to create a second afternoon group. Of course if you are interested in an evening group, you can sign up as well. Register HERE. Need more information about Chalice Circles? Find it here.

Acorn Groups

Have you been a member of Live Oak for less than a year? You might want to join an Acorn group. These short-term groups are a chance for you to get to know us better and for us to get to know you better. For more information or to sign up for an Acorn Group, please contact membership@liveoakuu.org.

Learning Resources

Don’t forget to visit the learning resource page for adults if you have the time to engage in more than what is happening at Live Oak.

Have an idea for a one time or ongoing online gathering that you are willing to lead? If you do, let us know and we’ll help with scheduling and publicity. And be sure to follow us on Facebook and subscribe to the newsletter for opportunities for online engagement.
