Faith Development 6.23.19

Here’s what you need to know this week!

Our summer programming continues this Sunday at 11 AM. Adults are invited to attend our weekly discussions on the worship topic called ‘Musings on the Message.’ Attendees will meet in Room 109 beginning at 11:10 and ending at noon. These groups will mostly be self-facilitated, but you will find all the materials there ready for you to begin each Sunday.

Children and youth are exploring cultural cuisine throughout the summer using the curriculum Books and Cooks. Each week they will engage with food from another culture through a story and cooking a dish together. There will be optional games and art activities to fill time as needed. The class will meet in Room 205 for the summer, and children 5th grade and under should be signed out by a family member by noon. Older youth (middle school and up) are encouraged to sign up to help lead a session, or just come and help with the cooking and storytime.

Since it is a food-based curriculum, each week when you sign your child in at the table in the Fellowship Hall you will find a list of the ingredients for the day so that you can let the teachers know if there is something your child should not have. We will make sure that our dishes are gluten-free, nut-free, and dairy-free as much as possible to avoid common allergens. Please check each week!

If you are interested in helping over the summer, there are still slots available for teachers. Please see the sign-up in the Narthex or go to https://www.signupgenius.com/go/508084aa5a62aa7fe3-books.
