Family Faith Development – (Children & Youth) 

Just a reminder that we will not have RE on Sunday, 9/6. It is homecoming Sunday, so join us for water communion and fellowship hour.

I will not post links to classes on FB, so families who regularly attend, please register for RE, especially since there are some special permissions for our online environment. If you are interested in visiting a class, and are not registered for RE, please send me an email at dlfd@liveoakuu.org.

A link for RE registration is in the right sidebar. After you register, you are added to an RE email list for your child’s age group. Registered families receive regular emails from me with zoom links and other information. Watch the welcome video on our faith development overview page for an explanation of how we gather each week.

We gather each Sunday for a chalice lighting, story, sharing, and dialogue. Younger children should be accompanied by an adult to help with technical issues. In addition, registered families receive information about a Live Oak Padlet site that contains each week’s lesson plan (in case you missed it). The site includes optional activities for home related to the session. You can post pictures of your family doing the activities directly to the Padlet site, or share in one of our FB groups.

PreK – 11:30 – 12:00
K-5th – 11:30 – 12:15
6th-8th – 11:30 – 12:15
9th-12th – 4:00 – 5:00

Adult Programming Plans

Meditation Mondays with Carrie (all ages) – 
Come as you are on Monday mornings for a brief check-in, meditation time and time to set your intentions for the week. We gather from 7-7:30. Meeting space is closed at 7:10 when we begin our meditation. Please check the What’s Happening page before coming. Any cancellations will be there.

Chalice Circles

The focus this fall is on connection and Chalice Circles are a great opportunity to engage with others in meaningful dialogue and create smaller communities within the larger Live Oak community. These circles focus on deep listening and dialogue. Groups of 6-10 people commit to meet twice a month, October – April. Topics focus on our monthly themes and are provided by Live Oak staff. Groups follow the guidelines for participation in a covenant group, which include committing to show up, sharing the time, and practicing listening.

If you have registered for a Chalice Circle, expect to hear more soon about the formation of these groups. It isn’t too late to sign up, there is room for more people. Interested in joining a Chalice Circle? Please sign up HERE.

Wellspring Retreat

For those registered for Wellspring, please be sure you are preparing for the retreat on 9/12. You should have received an email from me with the required books and readings for that session. Please contact me if you have any questions.
