Faith Development 9.28 to 10.4.20

Faith Development for Families

Reminders: No RE classes on October 4 so that you can participate in the Stewardship Celebration Drive-thru. Also, if you registered for an activity box for October, please be sure to pick it up on Saturday, 10/3, between 9 & 10 AM.

On October 11 we will begin a 12-session unit called, “Growing Anti-Racist UUs.” It is written for two age groups, K-2 and 3rd-5th, so who would like to help out teaching! We have almost enough people that we can do this with you only being present once a month. Please reach out to me if you are willing to help out in the RE Zoom classes this year.

Can’t make the scheduled RE time? No worries. As we say, families are the primary religious educators. All lesson plans are available to registered families via Live Oak Padlet. If you attended RE, the site includes optional activities for home related to the session. You can post pictures of your family doing the activities directly to the Padlet site, or share in one of our FB groups.

New to Live Oak? If you are interested in visiting a class, and are not registered for RE, please send me an email at dlfd@liveoakuu.org.

Attending and not already registered? A link for RE registration is in the right sidebar. After you register, you are added to an RE email list for your child’s age group. Registered families receive regular emails from me with zoom links and other information. Watch the welcome video on our faith development overview page for an explanation of how we gather each week. Younger children should be accompanied by an adult to help with technical issues.

RE Class Times: (subject to change with advance notice)
PreK – 11:30 – 12:00
K-5th – 11:30 – 12:15
6th-8th – 11:30 – 12:15

Adult Faith Development

Chalice Circles

Chalice Circles have kicked off, but we will form new groups as the need arises, so if you are still interested, you can register HERE. Need more information about Chalice Circles? Find it here.

Acorn Groups

Have you been a member of Live Oak for less than a year? You might want to join an Acorn group. These short-term groups are a chance for you to get to know us better and for us to get to know you better. For more information or to sign up for an Acorn Group, please contact membership@liveoakuu.org.

Learning Resources

Don’t forget to visit the learning resource page for adults if you have the time to engage in more than what is happening at Live Oak.

Have an idea for a one time or ongoing online gathering that you are willing to lead? If you do, let us know and we’ll help with scheduling and publicity. And be sure to follow us on Facebook and subscribe to the newsletter for opportunities for online engagement.
