Faith Development 9.8.19

Here’s what you need to know this week!

It’s RE kick-off this week. Please register if you haven’t already done so. A procedure change to note this year: elementary children will no longer sign in downstairs. Parents should sign them in at the classroom upstairs, preferably by 10:05, which is when class will begin. If you arrive late, please enter quietly as we will begin opening circle on time to allow more class time in our studios. Sign out is upstairs at the same classroom by 10:55.

Speaking of studios, we have added a new one this year – the ‘head’ space. It will be a quiet, reflective space where they can read, be read to, journal, meditate, whatever calming activity they need for the day. You can help them with this addition by reinforcing the calm, quiet aspect of this choice. It will not be a space for visiting with friends, as that is possible in the other two studios.

Middle School and High School start the year out with welcoming and ice-breaker games. Every year as people come in there is a need for the group to re-form. The presence of youth is vital during the first few weeks if that is to happen, so encourage them to attend and help shape the youth groups for the year!

Our adult programming will begin on September 22nd. For information about upcoming classes, please visit the Learning pages of this website.

We can use more adult help in our programs. Maybe you can assist once a month in a class, maybe more. Please consider how you can help in RE this year by contacting Carrie Krause. Let’s grow our base of adults sharing the journey with our children and youth. Many hands make light work and allow for a richer experience for all involved.
