Faith Development – A Love Letter to Live Oak

Faith Development Activities

Please note new time for Children and Families check-in. School is back in session online, so we will meet after school for a check-in and time to see each other! We will gather at 4:00 on Wednesday, April 1. Youth will gather on Thursday, April 1 at 4:00 p.m for a check-in and to play some games. Registered families will find the zoom links in their email and also in the FB groups for Live Oak. If you aren’t registered but are interested in joining, please email dlfd at liveoakuu dot org.

Everyone can keep up to date each week with the information found here. Adult programming is still taking place, but online. More opportunities will open up as people organize them. Have an idea you are willing to lead? Let me know, and stay tuned for more chances to gather online.

Follow us on Facebook and subscribe to the newsletter for opportunities for online engagement.

Send your submissions to dlfd at liveoakuu dot org by April 20th.

A Love Letter from Me

Dear Live Oak,

It looks like we are in this for at least another month, probably longer, so how are things with your soul? Are you making time to breathe and quiet yourself? Taking space to grieve the losses you are experiencing at this time? Finding moments or even extended periods of joy? Are you loving the hell out of the world? [I actually know you are, because you are staying home, physically distancing yourself, even from extended family.]

One of the best expressions of love and care I see at Live Oak at this time is the effort so many have made to get online or to help others get online so we can be ‘together’ on Sunday morning. Keep it up. Online gatherings of all sorts — movies, games, check-ins, learning — can happen when any of you have an idea to share your time with the community.

We are all figuring this out as we go along, me included. Our children and youth are returning to school, but online. Our routines are shifting again and we can barely remember what day of the week it is. Being a part of this community while we go through these days is what sustains me. I love you Live Oak, and there isn’t anything you can do about it!

“See” you on Sunday,
Carrie
